Room And Board

Lodging

Workshop participants will be housed on campus in Rose Towers (Student Housing). Rose Towers is a high-rise building that is used as a single unit, fully furnished apartments. It is not designed as a motel, or a full time conference facility. Therefore it may not include many of the amenities you expect from a motel.

Please review the list below before you pack. You may want to bring along some personal items to make your suite more comfortable. You should be aware that other guests such as teachers in summer training programs, adults who attending UA conferences, and parents of orientation students will be in the building too.

We Provide

Telephone in each room Elevators Full bath, toilet, sink, shower, and tub in each room 3 standard twin beds Living room furniture: sofa, chair, and end table Study room with desk Drink and snack machine of first floor TV in lobby area Stove and refrigerator in each room Message board & one pay phone in lobby Bed linens (twin-sized sheets, 1 blanket, & 1 pillowcase) & Towels (1 face, 1 hand, 1 bath. (Two sets per week, laundered by a linen service.)

We Do Not Provide

TV's, & VCRs, radios in room (bring your own, if you like) Coat hangers Personal toiletries Utensils / pots / pans/ dishes, etc. Daily room / maid service Taxi's, transportation service Rooms equipped for special access guests Bell hops, room service, alarm clocks (We have only a limited supply of bed pillows, so bring your own if you can or if you prefer sleeping on your own pillow.) Bed linens

Meals

Allowances will be provided for meals. There is a Food Court located in the Ferguson Center that is home to Starbuck's Coffee, Burger King, Chick-Fil-A, Blimpie, Manchu Wok, Allegra Pasta, & The Tuscaloosa Cafe'. There are also numerous restaurants located off campus.

Recreation & Fitness

		Recreational Facilities Available in town
		Tennis Courts and Basketball Courts adjacent to Rose Towers.(*Bring your own basketballs, tennis balls, and rackets.)
		There is a pretty picnic area along the river's edge, (less than about 1/4 mile from Rose Towers) withbeautiful nature walking trails along the banks of the Black Warrior River. (Bring camera &/or binoculars for bird watching?)
		There are numerous museums and several libraries in the area.
		There are several very nice public golf courses in town. (Bring your own clubs, etc.) (Brochures with rates available.)
		There are also numerous parks in the community, including playgrounds, and picnic areas, and other recreational facilities,(including a pool at Bowers Park).
		The University of Alabama's Arboretum also provides some very beautiful nature walking trails with a covered Ramada area perfect for viewing bird feeders.
